Akreos™ AO MIL
In cataract surgery the natural lens is removed and replaced with what is called an intraocular lens (IOL). This procedure is highly successful with over 95% people regaining very good distance vision.
Today an IOL is used to replace the human lens in more than 95% of cataract patients. The lens is typically implanted behind the Iris, or the coloured portion of the eye and cannot be seen from the outside.

Akreos™ AO MIL - The World's Most Advanced Aberration-Free IOL
Bausch & Lomb’s Akreos™ AO is designed with unique Advanced Optics™ Technology which makes it aberration free or zero aberration IOL. The aberrations present in the human eye differ from
to person. That's why Bausch & Lomb has created Akreos™ AO, the world's first aspheric IOL with aberration neutrality and uniform power from centre to edge, offering unique benefits independent of the patient's profile. Unlike other IOLs, it does not add further aberrations to the patient's eye. This leaves the slight, naturally occuring positive aberratioin from cornea, providing better Depth of Field (the ability of the eye to gauge relative difference between two objects.)
