Artificial Eye

The world need not know what is within!

A non-seeing eye or an eye which has been removed can be easily concealed with an artificial eye or prosthesis.

Removal of the eye could be required for numerous causes ranging from cancers of the eye to a shrunken eye after eye injury. Enucleation and Evisceration are procedures to remove the eye. An implant or a ball is placed in the place of the eye. This is followed by making a prosthesis that looks very similar to the other eye. Some amount of movements with movement of the other eye can be obtained. Eye opening and closure can also be achieved. Thus even an non-seeing eye or an empty socket can be made to look near normal
